Sabryn Ferchichi, MSW-I

MSW Intern (University of Tennessee, Knoxville)

Sabryn is a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a clinical focus on trauma-informed care, veterinary social work, LGBTQ+ mental health, and person-in-environment practice. Her experience includes working as a Crisis Counselor with The Trevor Project, where she supports LGBTQ+ youth navigating identity exploration, emotional distress, family conflict, and crisis situations. She also works in a veterinary clinic setting, supporting clients through grief, uncertainty, and high-stress medical experiences. Across community-based animal welfare and prior teaching roles, she has developed a strong foundation in relational care, advocacy, and culturally responsive support.

Sabryn works with all ages, and is especially passionate about working with adolescents and young adults navigating identity development, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and interpersonal challenges. Her work integrates modalities including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST), and client-centered and psychodynamic approaches. She approaches care flexibly, drawing from these modalities to best support each individual client’s needs. She has experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those facing high internal and external pressure or perfectionism. Her work is especially informed by affirming, client-centered, and relational approaches.

Outside of her clinical work, Sabryn feels most connected to herself through creativity, nature, and her relationships with animals. She has a background in animal care and community-based rescue work, which continues to shape her understanding of attachment, grief, and compassion. She enjoys writing, spending time outdoors, and being in spaces that feel grounding and intentional. She is also drawn to creative expression, such as painting and craft-making with friends.
