Jonna W. Causey, LSW, is a licensed social worker who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults, and families move through life’s challenges with greater confidence, healing, and hope. She earned her Master of Social Work from Capella University in 2025 and also holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida. Jonna’s clinical experience includes working with adolescents in residential treatment in Missouri, where she served as a credentialed Substance Use Disorder Counselor and provided individual and group counseling for teens experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Jonna’s background includes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and close collaboration with families, schools, juvenile justice partners, and multidisciplinary care teams. As she continues developing professionally, Jonna is excited to expand her work with children and adults while building on her strong foundation in adolescent behavioral health.
Jonna’s therapeutic style is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection. She works to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and free from judgment so they can show up as themselves and feel genuinely heard. Clients can expect Jonna to be warm, compassionate, and collaborative, while also helping them build insight, resilience, and confidence in their ability to move forward. She approaches each person with cultural humility and tailors treatment to honor their unique experiences, strengths, and goals.
Jonna provides therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating substance use, trauma, emotional distress, and co-occurring mental health challenges. Her services include individual counseling, group counseling, assessment, treatment planning, crisis management, de-escalation, and coordination with families and other care supports involved in a client’s healing and growth.
Jonna draws from evidence-based and developmentally responsive modalities including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT), and art-based interventions to help clients strengthen coping skills, better understand themselves, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of her work as a therapist, Jonna enjoys exploring Colorado, watercolor painting, art, photography, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Her creative interests and love of connection reflect the warmth, curiosity, and balance she brings into both her personal life and her work with clients.
