Jenelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. During her studies, she worked as a mental health worker at Butler Hospital, supporting children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health crises. After graduation, she began working as a research coordinator with Yale University at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where she has gained more than 15 years of experience working with veterans affected by substance use disorders and mental health conditions, particularly PTSD and depression.
Jenelle’s therapeutic approach is empathetic and engaging approach and she believes in partnering with clients to help them recognize and build upon their personal strengths while navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life stressors. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients and their support systems throughout the healing process.
Jenelle provides individual and group therapies, supportive skill building, parent coaching and case management. Jenelle integrates DBT, CBT, MI and Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) into her practice. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming and inclusive.
Outside of her professional work, Jenelle enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, walking, and photographing nature. She also finds strength training and CrossFit grounding and restorative. An avid dog lover, she has volunteered with and fostered for a dog rescue organization for many years. Daisy, the newest member of her family, is a spirited lab mix who enjoys hiking adventures and evening snuggles.
