Hiliarie Hurtado, LPC

(Intake Coordinator/Therapist)

Hiliarie graduated from NYU with her Master's in Counseling in Mental Health and Wellness. During her internship at Baruch College, she worked with students from various backgrounds, aiding them in their journeys as first-generation college students, navigating their identities and relationships, and learning to balance everyday life and schoolwork. Hiliarie obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where she majored in Psychology. This is where she found her love of counseling. Hiliarie was able to experience first-hand how therapy can be non-intimidating and helpful, as she was a first-generation college student and far from home.

Hiliarie is a compassionate, client-focused therapist dedicated to helping individuals overcome life's challenges and foster meaningful change. Her approach integrates evidence-based techniques such as CBT, DBT, and ACT with creative arts, delivered in a warm, humorous, and collaborative manner. Hiliarie views therapy as a safe space for self-discovery, healing, and growth, where clients can explore their stories without judgment and develop the skills needed to move forward with confidence.

She works with teens, young adults, and adults, tailoring each session to meet their unique needs, values, and goals. She specializes in supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and building positive self-esteem.

Outside of work, Hiliarie enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, listening to music, and reading.
