Alyssa is a graduate‑level social work intern from the University of Denver. Alyssa got their undergraduate degree in Communication from University of Northern Colorado. They have experience with experience in clinical assessment, case management, and supporting individuals navigating complex systems. Before beginning their clinical training, they worked as a probation case manager specializing in substance use, where they collaborated with treatment courts, community providers, and multidisciplinary teams to support clients’ goals. Alyssa has extensive experience developing individualized plans, responding to crises, and providing culturally responsive care. They are currently completing advanced clinical training with a focus on trauma‑informed, community‑centered mental health practice.
Alyssa’s therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in cultural humility. They believe healing happens through connection and strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to show up as their full selves. Alyssa works from a trauma‑informed and biopsychosocial lens, integrating curiosity, transparency, and shared decision‑making. Clients can expect Alyssa to bring steadiness, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. Their approach draws on motivational interviewing tools, strengths‑based practice, and reflective listening to support insight, resilience, and meaningful change.
Alyssa works with adolescents and adults and is passionate about supporting individuals navigating trauma, identity development, and life transitions. They utilize evidence‑informed modalities including motivational interviewing, CBT‑based strategies, DBT, trauma‑informed interventions, and culturally responsive assessment tools. Alyssa aims to provide care that is affirming, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, identities, and goals.
Outside of their clinical work, Alyssa enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring local coffee shops and music venues, and spending time with their family (along with their four dogs!)
