Abigail Wasinger
(Masters-Level Clinician)
Abigail earned her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. She completed her practicum at Wichita State University and has experience in community mental health and psychological assessment. Through these experiences, she developed an interest in working with people with diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Having experienced the benefits of therapy herself, Abigail understands how meaningful it can be to have a space where you feel heard and supported.
Abigail believes therapy should be a place where clients can show up as they are and feel comfortable talking about their experiences. She works to understand each client as an individual while also creating a space where they can explore what they’re going through at their own pace. Her approach to therapy is collaborative, with an emphasis on helping clients learn more about their own autonomy and patterns. Abigail incorporates psychoeducation and evidence-based techniques from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), trauma systems therapy (TST), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other approaches depending on each client’s needs and goals.
Abigail works with children, adolescents, and adults ages 7+ and adults who are dealing with concerns such as difficult life transitions, burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, loss, and more. She also has experience in working with neurodivergent individuals and people who have trouble managing their emotions, setting boundaries, or tend to put their own needs aside. She enjoys helping clients find practical ways to navigate life’s challenges.
In her free time, Abigail enjoys connecting with others through online gaming. She also enjoys sewing, painting, cooking, and hosting board game nights with friends. She loves getting outside to ride her bike, explore new places, and walk her dogs. When she wants to unwind, she enjoys curling up with a good dystopian novel.
